(This is So long, with many spelling and gramatical errors. Just for my own memory)
For so many reasons we wanted that little baby to get here. Chris had just recently switched jobs. Which we were grateful for because at his new job his new insurance was crazy good. So for a while there we were so stressed that the baby would come before he got the job, and once he got it we wanted it to come so bad before his crazy training started. We tried everything, and I mean EVERYTHING(nothing short of doing bleachers at the High School) to get this sweet baby here. But I should know by now that my babies will come when they see fit. This whole pregnancy pretty much I had thought we would be delivering at Jordan Valley. I wasn't sold on this idea, mostly because I am an Alta View girl and that is where I have been 2 other times, and I feel most comfortable there. Well when things worked out with Chris' job and I knew that we were going to have the new insuarnce, I knew that Alta View was a good possibility. Which I was extatic about..With Chris' being so new at work we wanted to still go with our induction date of March 26th so we could have the baby on a Friday and have the whole weekend. But Alta View has very strict policies and wouldn't induce one day before 39 weeks, which is what I was. So the plan was Jordan Valley at that point. I got a call on the Wednesday (before the Friday I should have been induced) from Dr. Smith, telling me about how insurance companies are cracking down on covering elective inductions. (So basically with my new insurance now which was awesome, if I got induced before 39 weeks, my previous insurance could decide to not pay for all my pre-natal care. That was just a chance I wasn't willing to take. So we decided to go for Monday March 29th. Then come to find out that Alta View is all booked and can't induce me until Thursday. I know that in the grand scheme of things this doesn't seem like a big deal. But for some reason when you are going through it, a few extra days is insane to wait.
My Dr. was cute and told me to just come into the hospital when I have some symptoms and he will just keep me. After a weekend of seriously a ton of walking, bouncing on an exercise ball, walking bleachers, walking up and down the curbs, etc. etc. That Monday I just had a feeling we would be going in. I didn't feel good all day, and was contracting for a few hours before we went in. We took the girls to Bryan and Natalie's thinking we probably will be back to get them in a few hours.
We get to the hospital and get all checked in, (of course all contractions stop.) I thought for sure we would be sent home. The cute nurse Roberta told me she would check on me in an hour. She came in a half hour later and said that Dr. Smith was on call and he called in and she told him I was there, and he said there is no way we are sending her home! We were so excited! She let me see what I would do on my own for another couple hours before she started on the Pitocin. Around Midnight I got the pitocin and got the epidural around 2.
I was so nausiated and swore I would never eat pizza again. The epidural was so stressful this time. Once that was all over and I started to feel okay, watching my contractions on the monitor instead of feeling them, I actually got a nap in. I woke up to so much dang pressure going on. The nurse came in and thought to check me again, I told her what was going on and when she checked me she said, no wonder I was feeling so much because I was at a ten. She had me push once and the head was right there and she told me to stop so we could get the Dr. there.
Once Dr. Smith came in, I pushed for a total of 3 min. if that..and she was out! She was born at 5:25 in the morning. And That sweet little cry. It's so fun to see Chris when are girls are born. He is the sweetest man in the world. They said she was so covered in all that "stuff." I asked Chris if she was cute, and Dr. Smith said..He couldn't tell. and Just laughed. I have never seen a baby more covered. He then had Chris cut the chord, and put her on my chest. It was truly love at first sight. It's so funny how much she looks like Joey. Just a mini Joey. The nursery worker then came to clean her off more. They kept saying how little she was, which I was surprised about. 6lbs. 8oz. I was expecting a 9 pounder for sure! :) She was perfect in every way. I feel so lucky to be her Mommy.
The hospital stay was so much fun. We are blessed with so many family members and friends that are so wonderful. Lots of visitors, Lots of fun. I will say that being in labor all night and not sleeping except for one hour is a killer. It took so long to catch up.
The girls were so sweet when they came to see her. Kendyl was so excited that now I can pick her up again and that she can lay on my tummy. Joey just loved her cheeks and is seriously the best big sister. Such a tiny little mama, is what we call her. I am so lucky to have these three little girls. Welcome to Earth Baby Cameron.. I love you so much.
Love Mommy
